Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia celebrates the YEAR OF THE RABBIT with traditional festivities honoring Asian culture, including a specialty menu at Luk Fu. The Rabbit is the fourth animal in the Chinese Zodiac and is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity.
January 28 - “CAI QING” CEREMONY, LION DANCERS and FESTIVAL
From 6:00pm-11:00pm, a spectacular Lunar New Year Festival at Center Bar will feature an evening of authentic performances, arts and crafts, and entertainment, including:
• Couplets written by Master Calligrapher
• Name Painting
• Face Changing Artist
• Traditional Musical Instruments and Performances
At 8:00pm, Live! will present a traditional “Cai Qing” Ceremony (pronounced Chai Ching), a customary and visually stunning ritual, featuring the “picking of the greens” by the “Lion” to bless the New Year and bring prosperity. Following the ceremony, and again at 10:00pm, the Lion Dancers and Live! executives will lead a rousing parade across the casino floor, handing out red envelopes to bring good luck to guests.

A unique dining experience is also part of the celebration at Luk Fu, which will feature a special menu complete with six traditional dishes known to bring good luck, including:
• Abalone Herb Soup – abalone, black shiitake mushrooms, chicken feet
• Stir Fried Chinese Cauliflower, Cured Pork Belly and Sausage
• Lamb Belly Hot Pot – with bean curd stick
• Sea Cucumber Meat & Sea King Meat – XO sauce, golden chives
• Lobster – choose a style: steamed, ginger scallion or Hong Kong
• Steamed Whole Fish – ginger, scallion, sweet soy
In partnership with Hennessey, the restaurant will also be serving festive cocktails, including:
• The Horse – Hennessey VSOP, Jasmine Green tea, Jasmine Flower
• The Rabbit – Hennessey VSOP, Chai tea, milk, star anise
• The Snake – Hennessey VSOP, Milk Oolong tea, Narcissus flower
